To begin, locate the SFZ file for the instrument whose range you want to edit. You'll want to be sure that your text editor supports saving files in standard 7-bit ASCII or UTF-8 format. You can edit the SFZ file in a simple text editor such as Notepad (Windows) or TextEdit (Macintosh). SFZ files are similar to XML files in their organization of data. Each instrument in a Garritan library has an associated SFZ file that tells the ARIA Player how to use the audio samples. While the audio samples are proprietary, the SFZ file format is a free format that can be edited. Garritan libraries use the ARIA Player, which loads instruments based on audio samples and SFZ files.
